Burgundy markets

Visiting a local market is one of the finest ways to discover the region. Here are our favourite foodie outings, all within easy reach of La Maison Rosie.
Our favourite markets
- •Louhans — Monday morning (~51 min): a market institution since the Middle Ages, held beneath famous medieval arcades
- •Buxy — Thursday morning (~23 min): a charming wine-country market on the Côte Chalonnaise
- •Tournus — Saturday morning (~20 min): in the town centre, rue de la République
- •Cluny — Saturday morning (~30 min): a large market in the historic centre
- •Mâcon — Saturday morning (~46 min): on the Lamartine esplanade
Right in Étrigny
- •Boulangerie L'Authentique — 16 rue de la Croix Rousse, the only bakery in the village, highly rated (4.6–4.7/5). Wed–Fri 7am–12:30pm, Sat–Sun 7am–12pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Baker's tip: arrive before 9am for the pastries — none left after that. Our favourites: the croissants and the corniotte, a local speciality.
