Highlight

The Chemin des Moines runs through Étrigny

The ridge path once walked by the monks of Cluny links Laives to the abbey along the spine of the Mâconnais hills — and it runs through Étrigny. You set off on foot from the house, with no drive to a trailhead.

From Laives to Cluny on the GR 76, 76A and 76C, through Saint-Martin-de-Laives, Étrigny, the medieval village of Brancion, Blanot and Donzy-le-Pertuis. Views over forests and plain, Romanesque churches, and the Navois, Chèvres and Mont Saint-Romain passes. Walk it over several days, or in sections straight from the house.
