Château de Sully

We visited it for you
Château de Sully is one of my favourite places in the region. I love it for its authenticity and its elegance. The visit is a real pleasure: it is punctuated with anecdotes that bring the history vividly to life. If you are travelling with children, they will love the games and activities laid on throughout the tour. A lovely outing with family or friends, in a magnificent setting.
About 40 minutes from La Maison Rosie, Château de Sully unfolds its Renaissance façades amid its moat and a great park. Madame de Sévigné called it “the Fontainebleau of Burgundy”; it is also the birthplace of Marshal de Mac-Mahon, President of the Republic. Still lived in by the family of the Dukes of Magenta, it is open to visitors from April to November.
What to see
- •The grand furnished apartments and the Renaissance staircase
- •The vaulted kitchens and their copperware
- •The park, the moat and the formal French gardens
- •Activities and games for children throughout the tour
